Aims & Objectives

The Monash University Postgraduate Association (MUPA) was founded in May 2007, with the aim of being the recognized means of communication between postgraduate/honours students and the academic and administrative authorities of Monash University Malaysia.

How can you become a member of MUPA?
All Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Ph.D. students enrolled in research or coursework programs in Monash University Malaysia (full-time, part-time or on exchange) are automatically considered as members of MUPA.

How can MUPA help you?

  • MUPA facilitates two-way communication between postgraduate/honours students and the academic and administrative authorities of Monash University Malaysia.
  • MUPA can help you make representations on personal concerns or collective grievances that you may face at your school or on the campus-level.
  • MUPA provides forums and avenues for postgraduate/honours students to express their needs, problems and wants.
  • MUPA provides a friendly ground for postgraduate/honours students from the different schools to mingle with one another.

MUPA activities

  • MUPA helps the different schools, the library, and the administration with orientation processes for postgraduate/honours students.
  • MUPA regularly organizes social events and get-together sessions to provide postgraduate/honours students with an avenue to mingle and make friends.
  • MUPA organizes dinners, outings and trips for all postgraduate/honours students – and in some instances, for their families too!

How can I get involved?

  • Be part of MUPA’s Executive Committee by running for a specific portfolio during the annual election.
  • Throughout the year, you may also volunteer to help out in our events as event-based subcommittee members.
