The MUPA Executive Committee (EC) is the representative body of MUPA and acts in the capacity of a governing body. The MUPA EC is responsible for the management of MUPA and meets every month to make decisions on how the MUPA operates, how graduate student funds are spent and how to improve the overall Monash University Malaysia graduate student experience.

STANY BALA KUMAR
“Hi, I’m Stany working on polymer chemistry as a PhD candidate at the School of Science. I chase molecules by day and bike trails by weekend. I live for travel, nature, and new horizons. My motto? Keep everyone happy, and happiness somehow finds its way back to me.“
Responsibilities
- Official spokesperson of MUPA
- Day-to-day management of the MUPA Executive Committee (EC)
- Raise/follow up issues pertaining to Postgraduate students welfare to the right authorities
- Advocate for the collective interests of Postgraduate students
- Hear grievances, complaints or suggestions to do with any aspect of the workings of MUPA from any Postgraduate student or any member of the MUPA EC, and to ensure that appropriate action is taken
Shatakshi Mishra
“Hi all I’m Shatakshi a PhD candidate working on cancer therapy at the School of Medicine, powered by caffeine and curiosity. - Organize seminars for education, research and career development of the Postgraduate student community

Ram Narayanan Ravi
“Hi Everyone! I’m Ram and I am serving the role of Secretary for the MUPA 2026. I’m a second year PhD student in JCSMHS. My area of research is Neuroscience, especially on Alzheimer’s Disease. When I’m not doing council work, I explore more on the archaeological discoveries across the world.”

- Give notice, and prepare agenda for all MUPA EC meetings and annual general meetings
- Record and maintain the minutes of every MUPA EC meetings
- Prepare letters and documents of MUPA
Ashar Sayeed
“Hi everyone! I’m Ashar Sayeed, Research Scholar at the School of Information Technology. I enjoy breaking AI models to learn how to protect them. Everyone says humans keep secrets, but AI can’t, and here I’m teaching it how. In my role as Treasurer, I’m excited to manage finances efficiently, promote transparency, and foster MUPA’s progress.”
Responsibilities
- Prepare the annual budget report for MUPA
- Keep a detailed record of the day to day financial transactions of MUPA
- Keep a detailed financial record of all MUPA projects
- Submit financial reports of MUPA for review, approval and auditing
Sagnik Nag
“I’m a 3rd-year PhD candidate at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JCSMHS), working in the area of cancer therapeutics and nanomedicine. Alongside my research, I’m actively involved in student representation and advocacy through council work. Outside the lab, I genuinely enjoy cooking—it’s my go-to way to unwind after long experimental days and a skill I’m always trying to improve.”
Amrita Muralikrishnan

Responsibilities
- Organize major social events for the Postgraduate students
- Liaise with the relevant members of the MUPA EC in order to expand, develop and co-ordinate the range of social activities for the Postgraduate students
- Provide recommendations to the MUPA EC on ways to improve the activities to cater to all Postgraduate students

- Engage in policy formulation, liaison, initiatives and action on any matter concerning the social and economic welfare of Postgraduate students

Hasminah Abbas

Responsibilities
- Acquire feedback on the current issues and concerns from the Postgraduate students within the School and to report them in the MUPA EC meetings
- Liaise with the School Course Coordinator and/or Research Coordinator on Postgraduate student matters/issues where the nature requires it to be resolved within school level first.
- Represent MUPA in any school-based committees to discuss and highlight any relevant and key issues concerning the welfare and experience of Postgraduate students
- Initiate school-based activities and events for the purpose of improving the Postgraduate experience at the University
